Boost your immunity and soothe your stomach with this creamy Golden Milk Latte! Featuring turmeric, ginger, and dairy-free milk this golden drink is enjoyable anytime of day.
A closer look at what’s inside:
Milk
Make this latte with your favorite milk (dairy-free if needed). I usually use oat milk or cashew milk as I find them to be the most creamy. I prefer using unsweetened plain dairy-free milk, but if you are using a variety with sugar added you likely won’t need much sweetener.
Turmeric
This powerful spice has been used for centuries to treat a number of ailments. Best known for its anti-inflammatory properties, incorporating turmeric into your diet is thought to help fight disease and keep you healthy.
Black Pepper
Make sure you add a pinch of black pepper when using turmeric to help your body absorb the beneficial chemical curcumin in turmeric. The piperine in black pepper will help you absorb curcumin up to 2000% more effectively.
Cinnamon
Packed with antioxidants, cinnamon has a wonderful aroma and adds an extra cozy vibe to this latte. It is thought that cinnamon can help with gut health alongside benefiting blood pressure.
Ginger
Containing gingerol, ginger is believed to have many healing properties. Best known for its ability to help control nausea, ginger works great for an upset tummy.
Vanilla Extract
Add just a few drops of vanilla extract to this latte for a touch of vanilla flavor.
Natural Sweetener
Depending on the milk you use and your personal preferences, you can add natural sweetener to the latte to bring everything together. I typically use a splash of maple syrup or agave syrup. A little goes a long way, so start slow and add more as needed.
Coconut Oil
Optionally, you can add coconut oil to this latte (if enjoying it hot) for some coconut creaminess and medium chain triglycerides. Some think MCTs are beneficial for your health and weight loss.
