You will love sipping on this bright Orange Cranberry Beet Smoothie made with chia seeds and ginger. It is filled with vitamins and probiotics to support your immune system and keep you feeling healthy.
A closer look at what’s inside:
Oranges add sweetness to this smoothie. They are also loaded with vitamin C! This helps to boost your immune system and fight off sickness.
I have been loving cranberries this year! They are low in sugar compared to other fruit and a good source of vitamin C, manganese, and fiber. Cranberries are also high in antioxidants — working to fight inflammation and unwanted toxins in the body.
The beetroot has a vibrant red/purple color that is beautiful in smoothies! It is also packed with nutrients. In particular, beets are a good source of folate and contain plant-based pigments that are beneficial for the body.
Use dairy-free milk to add some creaminess to this drink. Lately oat milk and cashew milk have been my favorites, but you can use whatever milk you would like.
Add probiotics with plain yogurt (dairy-free if needed). Check out the added sugar when buying yogurt and aim for a variety that doesn’t contain too much sugar — less than 10 grams per cup ideally.
A one-ounce serving (about 2 tablespoons) of chia seeds contains roughly 11 grams of fiber, 4.5 grams of protein, 30% daily value of manganese, 27% daily value of phosphorus, 18% daily value of calcium, and omega-3 fatty acids.
Ginger has become a go-to in smoothies for me. Ginger has been used for ages to help alleviate nausea and gastrointestinal distress. It is also high in antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory benefits.
